10-bed Emergency Department at Hartford Healthcare's Bradley Memorial campus seeks a Clinical Services Lead (RN) for 24 hours per week, including every 3rd weekend. The shift details are 7a-7:30p. Successful candidate will be responsible for managing clinical services in the ED. Position requires RN license in Connecticut.

The Emergency Department at HOCC – Bradley Memorial campus is a 10 bed unit that cares for patients across the spectrum of age, health, education, etc. The staff includes Registered Nurses, Patient Care Associates, Unit Secretaries, Physicians, and Mid-Level practitioners. The Emergency Department is equipped with all tools needed to safely care for any patient from central station cardiac monitoring to ultrasound equipment, to our EHR (Epic ASAP). All staff work together and in a supportive environment to make sure we have a safe environment for our staff & patients, working the most efficiently, and providing the highest level of satisfaction for our staff & patients.

The RN Clinical Services Lead is part of the leadership team and recognized as a clinical expert in one or more functional areas, providing leadership, knowledge, experience and research expertise to the team.

This position leads or directs the work to ensure the overall movement of patients throughout the unit is managed in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with regulatory guidelines, policies and procedures. This position also facilitates solutions for challenging patient care situations and collaborates with the unit manager and educator to monitor and maintain staff performance and outcomes. In addition, this position supports team members in alignment with HHC’s vision, core values and leadership behaviors.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing; Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred

• 2 years of acute care nursing experience required; 1 year of acute care charge or preceptor experience preferred. Prior experience Emergency Department (ED) and/or Critical Care Unit (CCU) highly preferred.

• Active Registered Nurse license from the State of Connecticut required

• BLS required

• Other certifications may be required in specific specialties

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Considerable knowledge of requirements by federal, state or regulatory bodies.
• Knowledge of all relevant policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of high reliability organizations (HRO) and LEAN process improvement strategies.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to lifelong learning as a methodology for promoting continuous quality improvement in the delivery of patient care and services.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
• Demonstrates effective leadership through collaborative partnerships in accordance with Nursing Professional Practice model.
• Strong ability to problem solve and make decisions in a fast-paced environment and in emergency situations.
• Ability to hold colleague(s) accountable and manage change and conflict.
• Strong ability to foster an inclusive workplace where diversity and individual differences are valued and maximized to achieve the mission and vision of the organization.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
