The Cardiac Electrophysiology RN is responsible for identifying patient needs and priorities for care thorough assessment, planning care based on patient needs and consistent with the patient's expectation of treatment. Executes therapeutic physician or nursing initiated interventions, and evaluates the patient's response to care and the attainment of or progress towards patient outcomes. Assists in all procedures performed in the Electrophysiology Laboratory. Coordinates care between other professional disciplines as needed. Through documentation and verbal communication, essential information is shared with health care team members. Performs unit-based activities, which contribute to a positive work and professional environment.

What you will do:

Manage the patient with suspected/actual history of cardiac dysrhythmia undergoing diagnostic/interventional EP procedure.

• Complete and document initial assessment appropriate to age/patient condition
• Reassess and document patient condition according to policy and patient condition.
• Administer medications; monitor and document response.
• Monitor patient’s overall status throughout procedure; immediately communicate patient changes to physician.
• Demonstrate proficiency in managing patients with a potentially life-threatening dysrhythmia, via use of medications and emergency equipment.
• Adhere to Conscious Sedation policy and procedure.
• Explain procedure to patient and asses patient’s understanding

Schedule:

• (3) 12s M- F. 4:45 AM start, No nights, weekend, or call

What you will need:

• 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse required; prefers acute care experience
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
• BLS required as per St. David’s HealthCare Policy
• ALS/ACLS required as per St. David’s HealthCare Policy
• Preferred: RCES or CEPS certification
