Duties

• Safely operate a range of commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers and refrigerated trailers across regional routes.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations
• Manage route driving responsibilities with precision to meet delivery schedules while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols
• Secure cargo properly for transport to prevent damage during transit
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, route adjustments, or vehicle issues
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, inspections, and other required documentation

Skills

• Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on commercial driving regulations and safety standards
• Skilled in operating manual or automatic transmission vehicles with confidence and precision
• Familiarity with various truck types including refrigerated trailers and dry vans
• Ability to unload freight when needed (NOT OFTEN)
• Strong understanding of route planning and route driving best practices for regional deliveries
• Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance
• Physical ability to handle freight loads and perform vehicle inspections regularly
