Ce métier de technicien spécialisé vise à contrôler, réparer et entretenir la structure externe et interne des aéronefs. Le professionnel travaille aussi bien sur des matériaux métalliques que composites, selon des procédures strictes de sécurité aéronautique. Il identifie les dommages, intervient en atelier de maintenance ou directement sur base aérienne, et applique les techniques de soudure, peinture, découpe et assemblage spécifiques à l'aviation militaire.
